My Quilts #237 ~ Halloween Scrappy Stars Quilt 2019

I started this scrappy Halloween quilt in October 2015 with the intention of gifting it to my granddaughter for Halloween. I'd already made 40 of the star blocks and eventually sewed the top together. Then life got in the way and the project was put away. After a four-year hiatus, in October 2019, I decided it was time to finish the quilt.

The pattern for this is from American Patchwork & Quilting, October 2014.  It is called Happy Halloween.  I used 20 of the star blocks and used a 4 x 5 layout.  It measures 53" x 62" and is a nice throw-size. (I have enough leftover blocks to make a 2nd quilt for me!)

DGD#2 no longer lives with me, and she is no longer 15 years old but I think she will still love this quilt.  I will just have to go visit her in Kentucky to give it to her!

November 2019

UPDATE: June 2020 - DGD#2 had planned a visit in April but thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, no one was visiting anyone soon.  As the months passed and as I learned more about this dangerous virus, I realized this was not going to end before 2021.

I love, love, love this quilt and I didn't want to wait to give it to her so I mailed it to her.  Although she knew I was sending something to her, DGD#2 had NO idea what to expect.

Here she is with her Halloween quilt with lots of love from her grandma! I miss her so very much! She's now in Kentucky but I hope we can visit soon.
