My Quilt Parade

I made this quilt from bright novelty fabrics.  It consists of twelve 12-inch Hole In The Barn blocks. I gave it to my DGD Angie to keep her warm at night and to remind her of me. September 2006 This concludes My Quilt Parade for 2006 with 37 quilts and quilt tops … for a total of 144 quilty projects!  I must have had some serious sewing marathons to make SO many quilts, many of which I sold on eBay: 3 in 2004; 7 in 2005; and 29 in 2007 … a very productive year!

Brenda and Lucita This is another joint venture for my BQFF Brenda and me.  We shared the cost of the materials, and we each worked on the quilt. She did all the piecing and the label; and I did all the quilting and binding.  We made this quilt for our co-worker Lucita, who was expecting her 2nd child, a baby girl.  The quilt was given to her as a gift for the baby shower we gave her at work.  The block design is a “T” for her last name. June 2006

I made this quilt from the Yellow Brick Road pattern by Atkinson Designs.  It’s a scrappy quilt made from yellow, blue, pink, and green scraps.  I quilted it with an all-over meandering design.  I gave this quilt to my co-worker and friend Donna for her birthday. April 2006

This quilt is made from scraps in my stash, and it consists of 48 Buckeye Beauty blocks, each 6 inches, in a traditional setting that resembles Trip Around the World. There are 8 rows of 6 blocks. The quilt measures 48 x 60 inches and is part of my personal collection. The pattern is from Traditional Quiltworks magazine, Issue No. 73, May 2001: April 2006

“ Back In The Saddle” I made this quilt with fabrics I already had in my stash.  This pattern is from the book Quilts for Peaceful Moments by Friendfolks Quilts.  Nine-patch blocks and 6-inch squares are positioned in an alternating setting in this easy-to-make quilt, which measures 59 x 71 inches.  I quilted it with an all-over meander design on my Mega Quilter.  I tried to get fancy by quilting stars and words (like Howdy) on it.  Still need more practice! April 2006 Cody & His Quilt ~ December 2008 I gave this quilt to my grandson Cody for Christmas 2008 when I visited my daughter and her family in Texas.  Each of my grandchildren received quilts from Grandma on that visit.

These two table runners were also made with fabrics by Pat Sloan … this fabric is now out of print and hard to find.    Runner A Runner A is in Pat Sloan’s book I Can’t Believe I’m Quilting and the pattern is “Friendship Star Table Runner”.  Each Friendship Star block measures 9” and the runner measures 15 x 43 inches. Runner B   Runner B is from a pattern I saw on the Internet, and I used the software program EQ5 to create the design.  I used fabric from my stash, including some Pat Sloan fabrics. March 2006

I also made this quilt with fabrics by Pat Sloan, and this pattern is from her book I Can’t Believe I’m Quilting.   The design uses nine-patch blocks and setting squares in an alternating setting.  Each setting square has a fused appliqué rose medallion.  Each block is 9” finished and the wall hanging – or table topper – measures 38 inches square. March 2006

I made this wall hanging with fabrics by Pat Sloan and used a pattern in her book Vintage Blooms , which showcases an appliqué rose medallion.  The leaves, stems, and layered blooms were easy to make with fusible web and machine appliqué.  This wall hanging – or table topper – measures 38 inches square and is part of my personal collection. I really enjoyed making Cindy’s 25th-anniversary quilt, so I decided to make a smaller one with a different colorway. I made the quilt top in 2005, but I didn’t complete the quilt until 2006.  January 2006 I gave the wall hanging to my friend and co-worker Rachel as a Christmas gift in December 2007.  I’ve known Rachel since I started working at San Gabriel, for over 12 years. I hope she enjoys and treasures her quilt for a long time.

I made this wall hanging from a kit I purchased at a LQS.  I quilted with a free-motion overall meandering design and used variegated thread.  It measures 52 inches square.  This quilt is part of my personal collection. January 2006

Finished Quilt 42 x 52 ~ Sold on eBay $21.50 I made this quilt from a pattern I saw in the Super Simple Squares book by Lynda Milligan & Nancy Smith.  I used a combination of bright novelty fabrics with black fabrics to make the half-square triangles.  I did not add any borders but I think it’s still a good lap or child-size quilt.  I sold it in January 2007. Finished Quilt 58 x 58 ~ Sold on eBay 30.00 I didn’t use a pattern for this quilt, but simply alternated scrappy 4-patch blocks with mottled-cream 6-inch squares.  I also did not add any borders.  This was a fun, easy quilt to make.  Sold it in January 2007. January 2006

Unfinished Quilt Top 56 x 63 ~ Sold on eBay $12.02 I made this top from a pattern I saw in the Quilts for Peaceful Moments by Friendfolks Quilts (Leisure Arts).  The sample in the book uses the same fabric I had in my stash, and I thought that’d be an easy quilt to make.  However, I didn’t have enough of the main fabric to complete the borders so I improvised.  I sold it in January 2007. Unfinished Quilt Top ~ Sold on eBay $12.50 Honestly, I  was unhappy with these quilt tops so  I gave them away for a low amount.  They didn’t lie flat and the borders were so wonky.  It was either donate them or sell them on eBay … which I did in January 2007. Unfinished Quilt Top ~ Queen Size ~ Sold on eBay $102.50 This quilt top is made of 90 Log Cabin blocks and is laid out in the Barn Raising design with a star in the center. It uses a block setting of 9 x 10, and I used up TONS of 1-1/2” fabric strips.  It definitely made a huge dent in my scrap stash! I sold it in January 2007. The pattern is Friendship Scrap Log Cabin  from Traditional Quiltworks, Issue No. 40, November 1995: January 2006

Unfinished Quilt Top 70 x 72 ~ Sold on eBay $39.99 This quilt is my original design, although it is based on a quilt I saw on the Internet.  It is made of 20 Tulip Flower blocks, 15-inch each.  It uses a diagonal block setting of 4 x 5. Each flower block is a different color marble fabric.  I already had some of this fabric in my stash, but I purchased additional fabric when I visited DD in Tennessee.  Each setting square is a Valentine-theme fabric that I already had in my stash.
