My Quilt Parade

  Finished Size:  47" square Bats & Boos was a 2021 mystery quilt-along from the Fat Quarter Shop.  I saved all the clues and finally got to it this year.  I used an E2E spider web design and love the results. Finished Size: 20" x 80" This Crescendo table runner is from a kit I purchased from The Guilty Quilter. I love the geometric design and want to make a bed size quilt but was a little intimidated. I thought a table runner was the perfect project to get my feet wet. It was not as difficult as I thought and I am happy with my runner. I quilted this on my longarm with an E2E design October 2022

I purchased the kit for this table runner a few years ago, and I finally got around to finishing it up.  It went together fairly quickly as it is a “quilt-as-you-go” project.  But, as easy as it was, I still had a problem and almost didn’t finish it.  The middle square is supposed to be centered, but as you can see from the picture below it is not!   After sewing on all the “log cabins” (strips), I realized the strips on one side were too short.  I was too lazy frustrated to repair the damage so I just trimmed the edges as-is, thinking this would be another loser project. However, after I finished binding it and putting it on the table, I realized it wasn’t too bad.  Besides, you all wouldn’t have known there was a major mistake if I hadn’t told you … right?    This holiday wall hanging or table runner was given to me by my BQFF Brenda as a Christmas gift for 2007.  She used a pattern from the Stars by Magic book by Nancy Johnson-Srebro.  The story of this quilt started when  our boss gave us each a quilt store gift card as a Christmas gift.  One day we left work early to shop at the store and fell in love with a store sample featuring a design from this book … and that’s what we each bought with our gift card! Rachel, Cindy, and Donna I made the table runner from a kit I purchased that included the “Cobblestone” pattern by Lehmann Hall Designs.  I gave Cindy the table runner as a Christmas gift.  Cindy has received several of my quilts, including her 25th-anniversary quilt .  Rachel is holding her wall hanging which I made in 2006 using the same pattern as Cindy’s anniversary quilt. This picture was taken at Northwood’s Inn in San Gabriel where we had our Holiday Lunch and exchanged gifts.  I knew this would be my last holiday lunch with “the gang” since I would be retiring the following year so I made quilts for each one.  I hope they treasure them for a long time! These two table runners were also made with fabrics by Pat Sloan … this fabric is now out of print and hard to find.    Runner A Runner A is in Pat Sloan’s book I Can’t Believe I’m Quilting and the pattern is “Friendship Star Table Runner”.  Each Friendship Star block measures 9” and the runner measures 15 x 43 inches. Runner B   Runner B is from a pattern I saw on the Internet, and I used the software program EQ5 to create the design.  I used fabric from my stash, including some Pat Sloan fabrics. March 2006

December 2004 This ends the 2004 Quilt Parade … a total of 37 completed quilt projects, including 6 basket wall hangings and 7 table runners!  No charity quilts this year, but still a very productive year.

Star Cruisin' ~ Runner A Granny's Bloomers ~ Runner B Ribbon Stars ~ Runner C    I made these table runners from kits I purchased either at an LQS or on eBay between 2003 and 2004.  I made these to give as Christmas gifts. I gave Runner A to my co-worker Rachel and Runner B to my other co-worker Erlinda.  I also gave Runner C as a gift, but I don’t know who! December 2004
