My Quilts #241-#242 ~ Quilts For Kids 2020

These quilts were made from kits from the Downey Touch of Comfort program in partnership with Quilts For Kids.  I'm a little abashed because I've had these kits since 2013 and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get them finished.

In 2010, I made three quilts from requested kits and thought I had made my final contribution.  I honestly do not remember requesting any more kits but in October 2019 I discovered not 2 but 3 kits!  Two had a packing slip dated 2013 with my name.  The third kit had a slip from 2015 with DD's name.

This 4-patch pattern is so simple and easy to make.  They measure 36" x 42" and are a perfect size for a small child.

Read more about these quilts here.

These are the first quilts I've finished this year.  They are also my first quilts of the new decade.  So far 2020 has been a turbulent year, starting with a pandemic and national emergency, then add to that riots and public outcry over police brutality, and uncertainty over the upcoming election.  We are in a state of anxiety but hopeful that it will come to pass and that we will survive.

In the meantime, I quilt because it makes me happy and it comforts me.  And as I quilt I pray for the safety and well-being of my loved ones.
