My Quilts #235-#236 ~ Quilts For Kids 2015

RAIL FENCE PATTERN BASKETWEAVE PATTERN These charity kids' quilts are also from the 2009 stack of quilt tops.  The patterns for both quilts are by Ursula Reikes.  I love her series of  Quilts for Baby  books.  They each measure 39" square.   This makes 9 quilts that I've finished from the stack which means I have 2 more left to complete.   November 2015

Warm Wishes - 38" x 48" It's A Snap - 35" x 46" X-quisite Block 46" x 46" These three kids' quilts are from a stack of quilt tops that have been patiently waiting to be finished since 2009!  A few months ago I started quilting the tops but didn't get around to binding them.  Last month, however, I finished four of them to give as gifts.  And, now these three are quilted and bound, ready to be donated. Here is the stack of 11 tops that have been sitting around since 2009. I’ve been creating kids' quilts for Project Linus since 2001 and have donated close to 50 quilts.  This makes 7 additional quilts with four more tops to go! November 2015

My Quilts #229-#231 ~ Wrapped in Love 2015

Isaiah and His H-Block Quilt Israel and His H-Block Quilt Nathan and His Warm Wishes Quilt These little guys are my BFF Vivian’s grandsons, and all three celebrate their birthdays in October.  Another last-minute invitation prompted me to grab 3 of the unfinished tops, which made it possible for me to complete their quilts in time for their party. The two quilts are from the Ursula Reikes book “Even More Quilts for Baby” and use the H-Block pattern.  The third quilt is the ever-popular Warm Wishes pattern. I was thrilled to see the smile on their faces, and mom was so touched she had tears in her eyes.  And that’s why I quilt! October 2015

My Quilt #228 ~ Baby Crackers for Ariana 2015

First finished quilt of 2015 I finally came back to quilting after a five-year hiatus. I can't believe this is the first quilt I've finished since 2010! This quilt is made from a stack of flimsy tops that I've had since 2009, just waiting to be finished. I didn't actually make the quilt top myself; I bought it on eBay intending to finish it and donate it to charity. The block pattern is a vintage design called "Crackers." I completed the quilt and gifted it to Ariana, my friend's granddaughter when she celebrated her baptism. October 2015
