My Quilts #296 ~ Moment of Zen 2022

Image
Finished size: 85" square This is an original design by Jo's Country Junction.  The pattern was published in the August/September 2020 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting .   I knew it'd be perfect for my niece Sandra and ordered a bundle of fat quarters of the Cider fabric intending to give her the quilt for her birthday in February.  Well, time flew by and I missed her birthday deadline.   But I was determined to make this quilt for her and started it the first week of May and finally finished it in June. I quilted it with the Curls Too design installed in my Moxie and used Warm & Natural batting.   And, the label completes the quilt! June 2022 UPDATE :   I gifted this quilt to my darling niece in August to celebrate her birthday in April.   She LOVED it and has it on her bed.

My Quilts #295 ~ Spring Pinwheel Sampler 2022

Image
Finished Size: 54" x 67" The pattern is from a 2010 pinwheel sampler quilt-along by Rachel Griffith Designs.  This is a re-do of the first quilt I made in 2010 which I no longer have because I sold it.  Boo hoo! I quilted this on my HandiQuilter Moxie using the Blossom Cluster design. I didn't have my usual fave Warm & Natural so I bought Pellon's 100% Natural Cotton batting.  I don't like this batting very much because it's not as soft, and it shrank too much.  It's too crinkly - if there's such a thing.  The backing is a pretty spring floral print and, of course, the label completes the quilt. This quilt is part of my collection, which I'll display during the spring and summer months. June 2022

My Quilts #288-#294 ~ Quilts For Kids 2022

Last year, I put together these fabric and pattern "kits" and finally found the time to complete them..  Using my GO! Big cutter, I spent a couple of days doing all the cutting. I was able to sew one or two quilt tops a day because they were small and everything I needed was together. Then I spent a couple of days quilting them with a simple overall stipple design and binding them by machine.  Overall, it took less than 2 weeks from cutting to binding. So happy to donate these 7 quilts to Project Linus. June 2022 Donated June 2022
