I have been quilting since 1999 and have decided to keep an online journal of my quilts. In this way, I can document their history and preserve their memory for my family and future generations. Most of my quilts are made as gifts; and with few exceptions, I have taken pictures of my quilts with their recipient. I have also made many charity quilts for Project Linus, Wrapped in Hope and Quilts for Kids.

Please join me for my quilt parade!

My Quilt #26 ~ Vincent’s Quilt 2002

Vincent’s Quilt 2002

One of the highlights of my year is the Southern California Quilters’ Run, which takes place in July of each year.

In 2001, DS#2  joined me for the south leg of the Southern California Quilters’ Run.  Much to our surprise, he was the winner of a gift certificate at an LQS. Of course, we wasted no time going to the shop!  He bought a book that had the “Patch Quilt” on the cover and asked me to make it for him. So, together we picked just the right material with just the right colors!

I started the quilt sometime in January or February and finished it in July 2002. The quilt consists of 3 Sawtooth Star blocks, 3 King David’s Crown blocks, 3 Fair and Square blocks, and 3 Monkey Wrench blocks. It measures 45” x 58” and is quilted by me using the stitch-in-the-ditch.

The quilt displays 11-year-old DS#2’s collection of patches, including his Weeblos Boy Scout patches. This quilt was made as a wall hanging for his bedroom wall.
