Finished Size: 85" x 99"   This is Bonnie Hunter's Rhododendron Trail Mystery quilt which she released in November 2021.  This is Bonnie's 19th mystery quilt and my third Quiltville mystery quilt.   When the colors were revealed, I was not enchanted but I was determined to make the quilt.  I'm glad I did and now think it's beautiful. The entire quilt is made from scraps, some I've had for years.  I've learned so much from making Bonnie's quilts and have gained the confidence to take my quilting to the next level.  So many small pieces!   I quilted it with an E2E design named Flutterbys.  I've used this design before and it's one of my favorites.  The batting is Warm & Natural. I found this whimsical flamingo print and thought it was perfect for the backing.  I used this same print for the binding. And a label completes the quilt! Finished: 47" x 59" This is a quilt for a dear friend I've known for over 20 years.  A few years ago she was diagnosed with cancer, and it seemed the cancer was caught early.  After surgery, she thought she had a clean bill of health.  Unfortunately, a year later, the cancer metastasized to her lung.  Sadly, there is no cure, no surgery, and nothing can be done except weekly chemo to keep the cancer at bay for as long as possible. The good thing is the chemo is working and the tumor has not grown. My friend has a wonderful positive attitude and looks great.  She has not allowed this illness to take away her love of life.  She loves to visit friends and family and just get out to live life.  She is an inspiration.  Cancer cannot and will not conquer her spirit. Finished Size:  72" x 92" I am so happy to get this quilt done.  I finished the top in October 2021 and wanted to complete the quilt by Christmas.  But that didn't happen.  So, almost a year later, it is now ready for Christmas 2022.   Each block finishes at 18-1/2 inches. I quilted it with an E2E Baptist Fans design.  The backing has a simple floral design with dark red and greenish-gray colors that complement the colors on the front. This was a Block of the Month project by Coriander Quilts.  I received an instruction book with the first month's kit.  Thereafter, I received a monthly fabric kit to complete one block. This Christmas quilt, which I recently completed, has been added to my personal collection. I am very pleased with how it turned out. September 2022

Drum Roll Please …. 300th Quilt Project and 15 years of quilting!  TA-DA!!   Finished Size:  77" x 89" Ever since Vincent told me last year that he was accepted into the UCLA Paramedic Program, I knew I wanted to make him a quilt to celebrate his graduation. When I saw the fabrics with EMS-related prints, I knew I had to make a quilt for his graduation.  I had no pattern or plan in mind but bought a couple yards of each print.   I ordered the center EMS panel from Etsy. And I was surprised to find they added a gift: a picture of paramedics caring for a child.  I had to include it in the quilt. My backings are usually plain but I wanted to use as much of the EMS fabric in this quilt as possible. I had yardage left over and made pillowcases to go with the quilt. I made the 20 snowball blocks with a different layout in mind.  In the end, I used only 8 for the front.  But the remaining 12 were perfect to go around the printed picture in th...

Finished Size: 58" x 78" I completed the top a year ago, but it took me a while to get around to finishing the quilt. This quilt is part of my seasonal quilts collection that includes  Valentine's  Chains of Love ,    Spring Pinwheel Sampler , and  Uncle Sam's Star  quilts. It's perfect to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! I quilted it with an overall E2E design that is pre-installed in my Pro-Stitcher called Clovers. The backing is a green and white geometric print, and the batting is Warm & Natural. August 2022 Patches of Life Raider originally belonged to my DGD Katie but, when she moved  to Kentucky, Raider remained with us. Leo "ran away" from his original home across the street.  When we contacted them to return him, they said they didn't want him because he didn't get along with their other dogs so we kept him.  I don't think he was treated well because his left leg was broken and never set properly.  IMHO he also suffers from...

Finished size:  76" x 93" Quilt Pattern: Weed Whacker by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville I started this quilt in 2008 and 14 years later,  I decided it was time to finish it. I quilted it with an E2E design called Audree that is pre-installed in the HandiQuilter ProStitcher. The pieced backing is definitely not by design.  When I saw the fabric with the bird design, I knew I wanted to use it for the backing.  Unfortunately, I didn't buy enough and had no choice but to use a different fabric for the middle.   I ended up with a pieced strip at the bottom because the backing wasn't long enough, and I didn't realize it until I got to the last quilting row.  The quilting design at the end does not match perfectly but it's good enough.  Finished is better than perfect! I love this quilt, and it is part of my personal collection. August 2022
